October 26, 2006 -- LOVERS of old-time tomato sauce can rejoice - Gino, the 1945 joint up the street from Bloomingdale's, has settled with its union and staved off a threatened Tuesday shutdown. Yesterday, The Post's Steve Cuozzo wrote about the plights of Gino and Le Madeleine, the Theater District bistro hoping to stop landlord Mark Scharfman from demolishing the place. The eatery says it has a "strong lease" and is part of an adjacent apartment building that can't legally be torn down. Stay tuned.
