Le Madeleine was sadly closed down in 2008 when the bistro received an eviction notice in 2007 from the landlord stating that he wants to demolish the building. The restaurant owner tried their best to contest this in court  with everything they had, but unfortunately they lost it and had to vacate the building.

I am a proud customer who frequently used to visit there and I’ve a lot of good memories with the bistro. Though the building owner got the business closed down, Le Madeleine will stay in our hearts forever. We loved it then and we love it even more now. The owners, the staff, and the food served there have made special place in my heart. With all those memories, I’ve planned to keep this website up and live for as long as I am alive. I’ll try to entertain you guys and share interesting stuff about food and kitchen, specially wine.

Le Madeleine is a modern French bistro whose doors first opened in December of 1979 with 17 seats. Fast forward to the new millennium and you’ll find a bustling bistro with over 120 seats, an enclosed garden, a zinc-topped bar and a Wine Spectator “Award of Excellence” for its wine list. The menu is executed by executive chef Bruce Beaty who is a veteran of the kitchens of Alfred Portale, Gilbert Le Coze, Jonathan Waxman and Michelin star chefs Michel Rostang, Jean Pierre Billoux and Jose Lamprea.
